Glencadam Distillery

Confidential and mysterious

The Glencadam Distillery was founded in 1825 in the ancient town of Brechin, just two years after the legalizing of distilling in the United Kingdom. Today, it is the only distillery in the County of Angus in the Highlands region of Scotland. Since its creation, the distillery has changed hands many times and closed on several occasions. In 2003, the distillery was purchased by the Angus Dundee Distillers Group after three years of inactivity. Production began at once, and the spirit of Glencadam was resurrected!

Premium whiskies distilled to perfection

Most of Glencadam's water comes from The Moorans spring, making it the longest water supply chain of all the Scottish distilleries. Favoring quality over quantity, the distillery uses just two pot stills to produce its entire supply of whisky. Glencadam's stills are unique: their lyne arm, the famous pipe that connects the condenser to the top of the still, is tilted upwards at a 15 degree angle. This has a considerable impact on the liquid that is produced. Once they have aged, Glencadam whiskies are sweet, well-balanced, and deliciously fruity.
