d'Indochine Distillery

TROPICAL and PASSIONATE

The 'Distillerie d'Indochine' has gone from being a dream to a reality: it was finished in 2019 thanks to its founders' passion and drive.   Located to the south of Hoi An in the province of Quang Nam, the distillery draws from the abundance of its lush landscape to bring us top-quality artisanal rums that are embedded in tradition as well as being respectful of the environment.  What makes the distillery so special is the fact that it is unique in Vietnam for having a French still and a traditional ageing method using barrels - all in a setting of pristine beaches.

Respect for tradition and primary materials

The 'Distillerie d'Indochine' is proud of the fact that it prioritises short supply chains. It is located 40km from the sugar cane fields in the province of Quang Nam.  The sugar cane is grown using environmentally friendly methods, and also benefits from groundwater whose high quality is recognised by French laboratories and independent Vietnamese entities.   Harvesting takes place at the end of the day and is done by hand, meaning that the per-hectare yield is low - resulting in better juice concentrations. The canes are delivered to the production site within 12 hours, guaranteeing optimal quality and freshness.  The juice is then distilled into a French still and then aged in barrels using a traditional method.

A distillery set in a stunning landscape

The location of the 'Distillerie d'Indochine' is ideal - both for the sugar cane's cultivation and for those who love spirits and are wanting to get away from it all.  The fertile soil and abundant water are both great advantages that make it possible to grow sugar cane in the very best conditions, in addition to which the tropical climate is ideal for ageing the juice in the barrels.  The distillery is situated right by the sea in an outstanding setting, fringed by paradisical beaches. The sublime Villa Mai Tai has been built within the distillery, and visitors interested in finding out more about the secrets of Vietnam will receive a warm welcome here.
