Born in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, Cù Bòcan is the peated single malt from Tomatin Distillery. This distinctive collection reimagines the conventions of peated whisky with a contemporary, creative approach driven by experimentation.
Made from peated Scottish barley, Cù Bòcan is produced in small batches at Tomatin Distillery. The range stands out for its elegant smoky character, complementing the whisky without ever overpowering it.
Cask selection also plays a central role in Cù Bòcan’s identity. Bourbon, Oloroso sherry, virgin North American oak and more unusual maturations depending on the expression: each release explores new combinations of smoke, fruit, spice and oak.
The name Cù Bòcan originates from an ancient Highland legend. It refers to a spectral dog said to have haunted the village of Tomatin, appearing through the Scottish mist before vanishing whenever anyone tried to approach it.
This mysterious world is reflected in the brand’s identity and in the character of its whiskies: smoky single malts with beautifully balanced profiles combining fruity, spicy and woody notes.
With Cù Bòcan, peat is seamlessly integrated into a balanced aromatic profile, allowing the richness derived from distillation and the different types of casks used for maturation to fully express itself.
